With the Premier League season over and Hull City being in poor form of late, many people feel the team, whose status was retained in the league, has turned its full focus on the big day at Wembley. A 2-0 defeat at the hands of Everton in the final day of the season, where Ahmed Al-Mohamady played the full game, will not affect the confidence of Hull City players according to the team's manager, Steve Bruce, as the players will be fully focused and determined to win on the 17th of May against one of the best teams in the world. Al-Mohamady has declared his pride and joy for being the first Egyptian to play at Wembley, saying he could not wait to take on the likes of Ozil and Cazorla in what he described as the biggest game of his club career so far. Arsenal are in form and will surely enter the game as favourites, which might suit Hull City as no one really expects them to beat an Arsenal side that is even more determined and hungry for trophies than ever. Steve Bruce has said that he intends to tell his players to enjoy playing in the final of the oldest competition in the history of football. No pressure whatsoever will be put on the players being the clear underdogs in the game, and having already secured a massive achievement by taking part in the final of the FA Cup final. The target at the beginning of the season was just to make sure they remained in the Premier League, but the players showed enormous quality and strength of mind, making it a season to remember. The timing of El-Mohamady's entry into the game is optimal, having just been chosen the second best player for Hull City this season after Club Captain Curtis Davies, who has been voted the best player in the season by the club's fans on the official website. Al-Mohamady said he was very happy to have come in second in the poll and said that Davies certainly deserved to be named their player of the season after leading by example on and off the field. High hopes are pinned on Al-Mohamady by his home fans that he gets a shot at making history and becoming the first ever Egyptian to win the FA Cup. Meanwhile, the Premier League season is over with Manchester City the champions after finishing two points ahead of the magnificent Liverpool, who probably deserved more than second place. Liverpool needed a favour from West Ham to have any chance of winning the league after losing a game and drawing another in the last two games, leaving them needing a win against Newcastle alongside a defeat for Man City against West Ham to win their first league trophy in 24 years. Unfortunately, this was not the case as their 2-1 win over Newcastle was insufficient, with Man City managing to defeat West Ham by two goals to nothing to win their second league title in three years, much to the delight of their fans. Congrats to Man City and hard luck to a truly brilliant Liverpool side who gave their all till the last second of the season. Chelsea and Salah ended the season on a high as they defeated Cardiff City 2-1 away from home thanks to goals from Schurrle and Torres. Salah played for nearly 80 minutes and had an average or slightly above-average game, but not really getting the chance to threaten the goalkeeper as much as he would have liked. In Spain, there have been no obvious winners for the second week in a row as the top three teams fail to succeed. Real Madrid is officially out of the title race as they suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Celta Vigo, while both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid drew with Elche and Malaga respectively. A win for Atletico Madrid would have meant the league title, but they could only manage to come from behind and salvage a draw at home against an inspired Malaga side. The equaliser changed nothing for the leaders, since avoiding defeat against Barcelona in the final game of the season will win them the league, while a defeat will mean Barca will be crowned champions with their head-to-head meetings with Atletico being the deciding factor. As it stands, Atletico is at the top with 89 points, Barca second with 86 points and Real Madrid third with 84 points. Atletico Madrid will play the biggest two games in their history in the coming two weeks starting with the title decider against Barcelona away from home at Camp Nou, later on travelling to Lisbon to face Real Madrid in the Champions League final. What a finale to the season! In other leagues, PSG officially won the league with Monaco coming second, while in Italy Juve deservedly retained the title and celebrated in style after defeating second-placed Roma 1-0 away from home, thanks to former Roma player, Osvaldo.
