Award winning Egyptian film Farsh wi Ghata (Rags and Tatters) by filmmaker Ahmed Abdallah was released yesterday in Egyptian commercial cinemas and will be on the screens for one week only, featuring Asser Yassin, Amr Abed and Mona Shimi. It's Arab premiere of the film took place at the Abu Dhabi International Film Festival this year and won the Golden Antigone Prize for the Best Narrative Feature at the 35 Cinemed International Mediterranean Festival of Montpellier in France that ran between 25 October till 2November. The film participated in the BFI London Film Festival as the only Arab film to participate in the official competition as the film made its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival (see Culture p. 15) The film is screened at: Americana Plaza, Bandar Maadi, Nile City, Sixth of October and Wonderland
