Arna's Children is an award-winning film written and directed by Juliano Mer-Khamis. The documentary is an account of Mer Khamis' mother Arna Mer,and the establishment of a Palestinian theatre group andcommemorates Arna's work as an activist in pro-Palestinian causes. The film won Best Documentary Feature prize at the 2004 Tribeca Film Festival. One reviewer said that it is “a work of art, because it was made with a trembling hand, with the stammer of someone who does not know whom to mourn most: his mother, the boys from the Jenin camp or the trampled hopes of people yearning to be free." Mer-Khamis was shot dead on 4 April in front of his Freedom Theatre, a drama project which he had founded following his mother's initiative. Arna's Children will be screened on Thursday, 14 April at 6.00 pm at Artellewa Rooftop, 19 Mohamed Ali El Eseary Street, Ard El Lewa, Cairo, Egypt
