Egypt's state-run human rights organisation has called for an urgent meeting with interim President Adly Mansour to discuss the country's human rights conditions, which it says are deteriorating under the weight of the government's battle against "terrorism." A press statement issued on Wednesday by the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) said the organisation will present Mansour with information on the "negative phenomena" of rights abuses in Egypt, including illegal detention, prolonged detention without interrogation of defendants and the arbitrary arrest of hundreds of children.
