Salah will be 'important player' for Chelsea next season: Mourinho Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho says the amount of playing time given to Mohamed Salah is 'good' after the Egyptian winger scored his maiden goal in a 6-0 victory over Arsenal
Jose Mourinho reiterated his belief that Mohamed Salah would be a key Chelsea player next season after the Egyptian winger opened his account with the Blues in Saturday's 6-0 hammering of London rivals Arsenal. Salah came off the bench to put the icing on the cake after finishing off a breakaway in the 71st minute. He beat the offside trap to latch onto a long ball from midfielder Nemanja Matic and place a low shot beyond the reach of Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny. Comparing him with German midfielder Andre Schurrle, Mourinho tipped Salah for big things. "For Salah it's more difficult, he's younger and coming from a different environment and culture. He needs even more time but we believe he will be an important player for us next season," the Portuguese coach said on Chelsea's official website. "He played 25 minutes today, 25 minutes against Newcastle and 45 minutes against City, that's good for him." Salah joined Chelsea from Swiss side Basel last January on a four-and-a-half year deal for a reported fee of £11 million.
