Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif is being questioned now by the Public Funds Prosecution. Nazif is accused of giving a German company the contract to manufacture license plates worth L.E92 million for the Ministry of Interior through a direct order and without a public auction as the law stipulates. Former Minister of Interior, Habib El Adly was also questioned in the same case and has been ordered remanded in custody for 15 days pending investigation. The former interior minister is in prison already in connection with other charges. It was also revealed that the former Minister of Finance, Youssef Botrous Ghali was aware of the deal and gave his consent.
