Zamalek are close to signing former Ismaily attacking midfielder Omar Gamal in the winter-break, according to Al-Ahram Sports magazine. Gamal, who currently plies his trade at Ittihad Tripoli, is believed to be on the brink of joining Zamalek on a free transfer -- even though he only moved to the Libyan outfit in the last season. Should Gamal seal his Zamalek switch, it will be the Cairo giants' first acquisition in the January transfer window. The 31-year-old's last international game came during the tenure of former Egypt coach Hassan Shehata in a friendly against Argentina back in 2008. Zamalek are currently third in Group B on six points from three games as they take on Haras El-Hodoud on Saturday.
