At least eight people were injured in clashes across Egypt on Friday, according to medical and security sources. Khaled El-Khattib, director of the Central Administration of Emergency and Urgent Treatment, told Al-Ahram's Arabic news portal that seven of the eight injured were in Cairo -- four in the suburb of Helwan and three in the district of Mohandeseen. Another protester was injured in the northern port city of Suez. Clashes were also reported in Giza's Haram district on Friday, when unidentified assailants attacked a march by Morsi supporters. Security forces fired teargas and water cannons in an attempt to disperse the crowds. Kamal El-Dali, assistant to the interior minister, claims that no fatalities were caused by the clashes in the Haram district, saying supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi tried to break into El-Talbia Police station before being dispersed by security forces who used teargas in the process. Security forces also fired teargas at pro-Morsi protesters in two other Cairo districts, Kasr Al-Qoba and Helwan, as well as in the northern city of Damietta.
