Russian defence minister arrives in Egypt for 2-day visit
Russian foreign minister is also scheduled to visit Cairo for joint talks on political relations and weapons sales

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu arrived on Wednesday in Cairo for a two-day visit, where he is scheduled to meet interim Egyptian President Adly Mansour, the Defence Minister Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi along with other political figures.
According to a Russian official who spoke last Friday, Russia's foreign minister is also scheduled to arrive in Egypt's capital on Wednesday as well.
Both diplomats will participate in joint talks with their Egyptian counterparts about weapons sales and political relations, the official stated.
The visit has been touted as a new phase in Egypt-Russia relations, and comes one month after the US suspended a part of its annual military aid to Egypt.
