Art Alert: Samaa Festival brings spiritual music from around the world to Cairo
Festival will take place at a number of venues around Cairo from 16-21 November

This month brings an air of serenity and hope to Cairo through the heavenly voices of spiritual music and Sufi chants, from 16 to 21 November.
The sixth annual International Samaa Festival For Spiritual Music and Chanting brings music from China, Yemen, Greece, Indonesia, Russia, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Albania, Sudan, Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan and Egypt.
The festival shall be held in three different venues simultaneously: Saladin's Citadel, Joseph's Well Theatre, Al-Ghory Dome and Al-Hanager open area.
In parallel with the performances, this year the festival hosts an authentic handicraft market from all over the world. The market is located in the Citadel.
Schedule
All performances start at 6:30 pm, and audience are requested to come half an hour early.
