Egypt passenger car sales down 4% by September
Imported car sales hardest hit between September 2012 and September 2013

Egypt Passenger car sales decreased by 4 percent between September 2012 and September 2013, according to the Automotive Marketing Information Council (AMIC)'s September 2013 report.
Passenger cars represented 69 percent of the vehicles sold last month, compared to 71 percent the previous year.
Sales of locally assembled cars decreased by 0.1 percent while imported car sales decreased by 5.5 percent from September 2012 to September 2013.
The volume of buses and trucks sold during that period increased by 8 percent and 4 percent, respectively.
Total Market volume for the month of September 2013 was 1 percent lower than in September 2012, with 18,258 vehicles sold in total compared to 18,420 a year earlier.
