Head of national security named Egypt's interior minister makes key appointment to the new National Security body, created to replace the disgraced State Security
Mansour El-Essawy, Egypt's interior minister, has decided to appoint General Hamed Abdallah to the position of assistant to the minister and head of the newly created National Security apparatus, set up to replace the dismantled and disgraced State Security Service. Abdallah had held the post of director of the rescue police force in Cairo as well as head of Helwan's police. His latest position was as assistant to the interior minister in the security division of North Upper Egypt.
