Egypt's jobless rate rises to 13.3% in Q2/2013: CAPMAS
Unemployment rises in the second quarter, up 0.70% from the previous quarter

Egypt's jobless rate climbed 0.7 percent in the second quarter of 2013 compared to the last quarter of the current year, reaching 13.3 percent of the country's total labour force, according to state-run statistics body CAPMAS.
CAPMAS's quarterly report, released on Sunday, attributed the increase in the unemployment rate to the stricken economy, which has seen frequent hits since the 2011 revolution.
According to CAPMAS, the number of working Egyptians reached 23.6 million, with the total labour force registering 27.2 million.
The number of unemployed increased by 36,000 in Q2 2013 to reach 3.6 million jobless Egyptian.
The unemployment rate among male workers reaches 9.8 percent, while among women it is 25 percent.
Roughly 74 percent of job seekers are aged 15 - 29 years old.
Job seekers in urban areas swelled by 2 percent during April-June period of the current year to 16 percent, compared with 15.7 percent of the total labour force in the previous quarter.
The jobless rate in Egypt's rural areas stands at 11.3 percent.
