Unidentified gunmen and police have exchanged fire at a police station and a security checkpoint in the north Sinai town of Al-Arish, state news agency MENA reported. No injuries have been reported so far. Armed assailants using machineguns launched intense busts of fire at the police station in Al-Arish, a security source told MENA. The Sinai Peninsula has been plagued with almost daily attacks by hardline Islamist militants since the ouster of the country's Islamist leader Mohamed Morsi on 3 July. In a separate attack on Saturday, other assailants targeted a security checkpoint outside a bank in the city. The gun battle is still ongoing between both sides. On Wednesday, two soldiers were killed in an exchange of gunfire and four militants died when their explosive-laden car detonated near a police base. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/77554.aspx
