Zamalek's coach thanks his players after Ahly's draw Zamalek's boss feels satisfaction at his side's performance during Wednesday's clash adding he has to thank the players for their efforts
Zamalek's manager Helmi Toulan said on Wednesday he is satisfied with the result of Wednesday's clash against Ahly in the Champions League quarter final's opener as the players produced a great efforts during the game. Zamalek started his campaign in the Champions League's group stages with a 1-1 draw to archrival Ahly on Wednesday in Gouna. "We played under very difficult conditions that affected the players; I thank the players for their great efforts," Toulan told Ahram Sports. Meanwhile, the 59-year-old coach stressed that team's playmaker Mahmoud Abdel-Razek 'Shikabala' needs some time to regain his form. The talented forward played the last 30 minutes but he didn't make the anticipated impact. Shikabala who returned to Zamalek last January after a short spell at the Emirati side Al-Wasl, has not played any competitive game since January. On the other hands Zamalek's midfielders Mohamed Ibrahim and Ahmed Eid Abdel-Malek expressed their displeasure concerning the game's result confirming that their team deserved to win the game. "We were close to clinch the three points of the game as we played better than our opponent," said Abdel-Malek. "The team's performance will improve in the next game and I am sure that we will realise a positive result against the Leopards," Ibrahim added. Zamalek will face Congolese side Leopards on Sunday 4 August in Congo.
