Cairo giants Ahly and Zamalek will meet on 21 July and 14 September in the CAF Champions' League group stage, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) revealed on Tuesday. Earlier in May, the Egyptian rivals were drawn in the same group in the Champions League for the second successive year. Ahly and Zamalek were paired in Group A alongside the AC Leopards of Congo and the Orlando Pirates of South Africa. "CAF informed us that Group A matches will kick off with a Zamalek versus Ahly game on 19 July, while the away match will be held on 14 September," Zamalek's official website revealed. Titleholders Ahly reached the group stage after winning 2-1 at home to Tunisia's Club Bizertin, while their bitter-rivals Zamalek qualified after a 3-3 aggregate draw with Ethiopia's Saint George. The Cairo giants were paired together in the same group in 2008 and 2012, when both tournaments were won by Ahly. Last year, they were with TP Mazembe of DR Congo and Ghana's Berekum Chelsea. From the group, Ahly and Mazembe qualified.
