Rebel Campaign sues Egypt Islamist leaders for 'inciting arsonists'
Anti-Morsi petition Rebel Campaign quickly files suit against Egypt's president and Islamist leaders for inciting arsonists who torched their office Friday morning

The Rebel Campaign quickly files a complaint against several Egyptian Islamist leaders, including President Mohamed Morsi on Friday, accusing them of inciting the torching of their headquarters earlier the same day.
The campaign's headquarter in Cairo's downtown were set on fire in the early hours of Friday by unknown assailants who threw Molotov cocktails at the office.
Organisers said the group has received threats of physical harm from Islamist presidential supporters in recent days.
Aside from President Morsi, the complaint names the Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie; his deputy Khairat El-Shater; the secretary general of the Freedom and Justice Party; Brotherhood member Ahmed El-Mogheir and a leading member of Gamaa Islamiya, Assem Abdel-Maged.
The Rebel Campaign aims to force early presidential elections by gathering 15 million anti-Morsi signatures to outnumber the 13.2 votes that got him into office in June 2012.
Supporters of President Morsi charge that the Rebel campaign is anti-democratic as it attempts to prevent the elected president from finishing his 4-year term.
On 25 May, when President Morsi was asked about the petition during a visit to Addis Ababa, he urged campaigners "not to forget the key principles of democracy."
"Some people say I barely got 52 percent of the vote in [last year's] presidential election [runoff against Mubarak-era PM Ahmed Shafiq]," Morsi said. "But legally and constitutionally, I am the legitimate president."
Rebel organizers announced last week that they have collected 7 million petitions since they launched the campaign in early May.
To counter the anti-Morsi Rebel petition, Abdel-Meguid member of Gamaa Islamyia, along with Islamist powers in the country, launched "Impartiality" a pro-Morsi campaign on 12 May.
On 2 June, the Islamist groups announced that the initiative had managed to collect 2 million signatures supporting President Mohamed Morsi.
