Artists occupying public space to present their work is not new to Egypt; since the revolution erupted in 2011, Egypt's main city squares and streets have seen an array of public performances, bringing art into people's lives. "Mini-Mobile Concerts" in Alexandria is one such intervention. The performance is the brainchild of Alexandrian musician Ramez Ashraf, who uses a network of musicians to reclaim the streets in an attempt to bring independent music closer to people who have no access to these artists.
