Zamalek football director Hamada Emam believes that the Egyptian Premier League suspension has affected the club's finances, and argued that domestic football games must resume as soon as possible. "Zamalek's football committee are racing against time to find a solution to the players' financial demands," Emam told a television programme. All football competitions have been suspended since 1 February when 72 Ahly fans died and hundreds were injured following clashes with rivals Masryin Port Said stadium. "We are concentrating now on extending the players' contracts and finding financial support to see us through the current crisis," he added. The former Zamalek icon also praised the performance of the team's Brazilian coach Jorvan Vieira. Emam commended Viera's way of dealing with the players and his steps in scouting youth talent to build a new team. "The relationship between coach Vieira and Zamalek's players is good, as he always does a lot to solve their problems with the management," he said. Emam concluded his announcements by revealing that he is eager to have permanent board members, for the Whites to have stability.
