Tottenham have stepped up their interest in signing the Ghanaian Porto winger when the January transfer window reopens

Ghana and Porto winger Christian Atsu is being chased by English Premier League side Tottenham after his superb performance in the Champions League matches.
The Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas asked the team's management to secure the £12 million needed to get the services of the highly rated Ghanaian player, website Ghanasoccernet reported on Sunday.
Tottenham's scouts have watched the 20-year-old player throughout his participation with Porto in the European Champions League.
The 2010-2011 best young player for FC Porto Atsu has been named as a nominees for the 2012 Golden Boy Award ,given to the best European footballer under the age of 21.
