Death toll of Egyptian pilgrims performing annual Hajj in Saudi Arabia reaches 53, say Egyptian officials

The death toll of Egyptians performing the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia has reached 53, Mohamed El-Attar, head of Egypt's official Hajj delegation, told official news agency MENA on Monday.
El-Attar added that the deceased had been buried in Saudi Arabia with the permission of their next-of-kin.
"Most Egyptian pilgrims are in good health," El-Attar was quoted as saying. "Saudi authorities in Mecca have opened all private clinics and hospitals to provide those returning from Mina with the necessary assistance."
Muslim pilgrims finished Hajj rituals on Monday, hurling rocks at three pillars representing Satan in the Mina Valley.
They then headed to Mecca to perform a farewell circumambulation of the Kaaba, the cube-shaped structure next to the Grand Mosque towards which Muslims worldwide pray, before leaving the oil-rich kingdom.
