Egypt's Zamalek Ultras plan to attend Mazembe CAF clash, despite fans ban
Security concerns dominate Zamalek's CAF Champions League clash against TP Mazembe as a match in Tunisia is canceled following hooliganism
Published in Ahram Online on 19 - 08 - 2012

Zamalek hardcore fans, the Ultras White Knights (UWK), have announced they will attend Sunday's match in the military stadium against DR Congo's TP Mazembe, despite the fans ban.
“UWK have decided to meet Sunday to attend the Mazembe match in the CAF Champions League,” reads a statement published 15 August on the UWK Facebookpage that has more than 234,000 fans.
All continental competition is being held behind closed doors in Egypt while the last domestic football season were canceled on a wake of the Port Said disaster that saw the deaths of 74 Ahly fans after clashing with rivals Masry.
“It's a moment awaited by many Knights. Who can stop the free fans from supporting their beloved team? “ said the post liked by more than 4000 fans and commented 855 times.
In Tunisia, experiencing similar circumstances as their league season was held behind closed doors, a match between rivals Esperance and Etoile Sahel, in the same CAF championship, was called off Saturday after a pitch invasion.
While comments on social networks swing between agreeing and objecting, Egyptians will be watching how the security forces handle the situation, especially on the first day of a Muslim holiday, Eid Al-Fitr.
It's a decisive game for the Cairo-based club as they gained no points from three rounds while their bitter rivals Ahly are on the top of Group B with nine points and will be hosted by Ghana'sBerekum Chelsea later Sunday.
