Zamalek coach drops ‘unfocused' Zaki from Mazembe trip Zamalek striker Amr Zaki won't play in the CAF Mazembe clash, distracted by the transfer offer by Turkish club Gaziantep
Zamalek caretaker coach Ismail Yussif announces that he will not include striker Amr Zaki in the CAF Champions League clash against DR Congo's TP Mazembe. "Zaki is not ready for the decisive match and the technical staff will only name players who are ready, with no consideration to who they are," Yussif was quoted as saying on the club's official website Monday. The Red Castle, who were hit by the retirement of long-time manager, Hassan Shehata, are bottom of Group B table with no points after two successive defeats against Ghana's Chelsea and archrivals Ahly. "Although he returned to training [after four days of indiscipline] Zaki is not really focused, especially after he received the Turkish move offer," Yussif added. The 28-year-old forward had revealed earlier that he received a transfer offer from Turkish side Gaziantep of 250,000 Euros, and also expressed his hoped that the Cairo giants would give him the green light. "I am hoping that the club agrees to my move amicably, since this is the best for all sides," the former Wigan player said.
