Senegal's Diame agrees terms with West Ham

Senegal midfielder Mohamed Diame has signed a three-year-deal with West Ham United, the Hammers announced on their official website Wednesday.
Diame, who was about to become a free agent when his contract with Wigan Athletic ends next month, will be the club's third summer-signing.
"I'm very happy and very excited to have joined the club and I'm looking forward to the start of the season," the Senegalese international said.
"I know the fans here get behind the team all the time and I'm looking forward to showing everybody what I can do on the pitch," he added.
Diame, who was reportedly in negotiations with other Premier League clubs, faces a challenge to win the confidence of his new boss Sam Allardyce.
"His potential is really good and he's ready to go and compete in the first team straight away, as he's had three years in the Premier League already," Allardyce said about Diame who joined Wigan from Spain's Rayo Vallecano in 2009.
"He's 25 and can only get better and I hope he can go on to prove that to me and all of the West Ham United fans. He will be a very exciting addition to the squad," the coach concluded.
