The Malian guitarist, Habib Koité will hold a solo performance on 29 January at Darb 1718 for the opening of the exhibition, Rencontres de Bamako. Koité is one of the most popular and recognised African musicians. He mixes the folkloric beats of the ancient traditions of Mali, with different styles of music which has influences of blues and flameanco. He has held about 1,000 shows since 1994 worldwide and played at most of Europe's major venues and festivals, including the Montreux Jazz Festival, WOMAD, and the World Roots Festival.
