The campaign of former presidential hopeful Hamdeen Sabbahi has denied it will file a lawsuit with the Administrative Court calling for the suspension of the presidential elections. Hossam Mones, the head of Sabbahi's campaign, told Ahram Online that the campaign had presented several appeals to the Supreme Presidential Electoral Commission (SPEC) to delay the announcement of the election results until the Constitutional Court has ruled on whether the disenfranchisement law is valid or not. The law, which was discussed in April by the People's Assembly, stipulates that a limited number of individuals who served in top positions in the Mubarak regime during the last ten years of his reign, would not be eligible to enter the presidential race. If the law is valid, it would bump Ahmed Shafiq, who served both as Mubarak's aviation minister and prime minister, out of the race, and allow Sabbahi, who came third, to compete in the second round of the elections set for 16-17 June.
