Egypt's Human Development Report (HDR) 2021 was launched on Tuesday after a 10-year hiatus. The report, "Development, a right for all: Egypt's pathways and prospects", tracks developments throughout the past decade, and looks at development challenges ahead to achieving the goals of Agenda 2030 for sustainable development. The report sees Egypt enhancing its commitment to guaranteeing the right to development for all Egyptians through steps such as strengthening financing for development, accelerating inclusive digital transformation through investment in infrastructure and continuing institutional and capacity development to enhance the efficiency and quality of basic public services. Issued by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in cooperation with the Ministry of Planning and Development, the report was launched in an event attended by President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi in the New Administrative Capital. It was presented to the president by Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala Al-Said, and UNDP Resident Representative Randa Abul-Hosn. *A version of this article appears in print in the 16 September, 2021 edition of Al-Ahram Weekly
