Ghana's coach Akwasi Appiah announced Wednesday his 30-man squad for June's matches, minus strikerAsamoah Gyan after Appiah failed to convince him to return to the national team. Appiah travelled to the UAE last week in order to persuade the player to rejoin the Black Stars but it seems the coach's mission was unsuccessful. Gyan, who played for Emirati side Al-Ain last season, is on a temporarily international break after being fiercely attacked for his poor performance in the Africa Cup of Nations 2012, which saw Ghana finish in fourth place. Ghana will meet Lesotho and Zambia in 2014 World Cup qualifier on 1stand 9th June respectively.
