An Egyptian court requested Interpol issue a notice to arrest and extradite fugitive contractor Mohamed Ali and two others on Sunday, who are charged with spreading fake news, endangering national peace and joining an illegal group. The court also postponed the case, which is known in the media as "the Joker" and involves 102 defendants, to Tuesday due to the absence of some defendants, including Ali, who lives in Spain. According to the prosecution, the defendants posted videos on Youtube, in which they called for mass protests in September 2019 meant to disrupt national peace and commit terrorist acts in the area of Kesm EL-Arbaeen in Suez. The prosecution have accused the defendants of joining an illegal group to disrupt of the provisions of the constitution and laws and to spread false news about the political and economic conditions in the country, with the intention of disturbing public peace as well as misusing social media.
