Tunisia's Esperance, Etoile pleased with draw
Officials from Tunisian sides Esperance de Tunis and Etoile Sportive du Sahel express pleasure with CAF Champions League group stages draw
Published in Ahram Online on 15 - 05 - 2012

Esperance de Tunis and Etoile du Sahel officials said on Tuesday that they were very happy regarding the CAF Champions League group stages draw, which put the two Tunisian giants in the same group to avoid long stays in Africa.
Esperance and Etoile were both drawn into group A, along with ASO Clef of Algeria and Sunshine Stars of Nigeria. The group is relatively easy compared with group B, which includes three former African champions.
"This is a good draw for us. I'm happy to play against Etoile du Sahel, our fellow Tunisian side. I say so because, logistically, it suits us well to play a Tunisia side – we don't have to travel too far and we know each other well," Esperance club official Riyadh Bennour told Cafonline on Tuesday.
"All in all, it's a good draw for us, and I think Esperance will make it through to the semis," he added.
Etoile du Sahel official Ben Zouhair, too, said it was a fairly good draw for his side.
"We're pleased to play a Tunisian team. Before this draw, we were ready for anyone, and I believe Etoile will go through from this group since we're well prepared and ready for this competition," he said.
Defending champions Esperance de Tunis are looking to hold onto their title in Tunisia, while their compatriots, Etoile Sportive du Sahel, are looking for their first title since 2007, when they defeated Ahly 3-1 in the final in Cairo.
