Cameroon confirms readiness for hosting AFCON 2021 on time

Cameroon Football Association (CFA) President Seidou Mbombo Njoya announced on Thursday that his country is ready to host the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) on its scheduled date without any changes.
"Our country will host the TOTAL AFCON 2021 in January 2022," Njoya wrote on his official twitter account.
"Fecafoot-Officiel is committed to working alongside the government to produce a football jamboree that will be the first of its kind in Africa as desired by Patrice Motsepe," he added.

Cameroon is scheduled to host the finals of the 2021 AFCON from 9 January till 6 February 2022, with 24 teams participating in the tournament after it was postponed due to fears over the coronavirus.
The Confederation of African Football decided on Sunday to postpone the draw of the 2021 AFCON's finals amid fears of the coronavirus that caused rumors on the future of the continental tournament.
Egypt has qualified for the 2021 AFCON as leaders of Group G, with 12 points to their name after winning three matches and drawing in the other three.
