Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry is to hold a session of talks on Tuesday in Cairo with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, the first such meeting after a three-year-plus Egyptian boycott on Doha ended earler this year. The two sides are set to discuss cooperation relations between both countries, as well as other regional and international issues of common interest. Diplomatic relations between Cairo and Doha were resumed in January on the heels of signing the Al-Ula reconciliation agreement. The agreement was signed between Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, on one side, and Qatar, on the other side. The Al-Ula agreement ended a diplomatic and travel boycott by the Arab Quartet — Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain — on Doha since June 2017. Shoukry and bin Jassim previously in Cairo but on the sidelines of the League of Arab States' meeting in March. On Friday, Shoukry said steps to implement the agreement is going well and indicators in this regard are all positive.
