Sisi instructs officials to build roads, axes along River Nile branches to be new development veins

Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has issued instructions for the optimal use of ongoing water-related projects, including the Delta Misr project, so that roads and axes would be constructed along the River Nile to serve as new development veins.
The president gave the instructions during a meeting on Monday with Presidential Adviser for Urban Planning Amir Sayed Ahmed and Chairman of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Ihab El-Far, along with other senior officials.
During the meeting, President El-Sisi was briefed on studies into making use of wastewater in western Suez, in addition to developments in utilising agricultural run-off expected to be provided from Bahr El-Baqar wastewater treatment plant, which will have a direct impact on the national project for the comprehensive development of Sinai, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.
The meeting touched on the status of a number of projects carried out by the Armed Forces Engineering Authority across the country, notably the Delta Misr project for agricultural production, and the New Administrative Capital project.
The meeting discussed work progress on a number of construction projects, including the status of providing state-of-the-art giant construction equipment for the national project to upgrade Egyptian villages nationwide, in line with the Decent Life presidential initiative.
The presidential spokesman said the meeting also reviewed the network of roads and axes in Greater Cairo, with President El-Sisi directing officials to gradually expand the construction and development of major roads and axes; with a view to reducing traffic congestion, easing the burden on citizens, cutting pollution and saving fuels.
