Msh Zanbek (It's Not Your Fault) is an outdoor, site specific, socially-distanced play about sexual harassment and assault in Egypt. Msh Zanbek is an original play, written by young Egyptian women and men which explores the issue of sexual harassment in the region from multiple perspectives: families and couples, bystanders, victims and perpetrators, men and women, power and incapacity. The work offers five short plays, each dealing with a different aspect of this issue as it resonates in the Middle East/North Africa region. The five plays of Msh Zanbek: Ensah, See Me, Esh Fahemek, The Report, and Lama Etablna are performed outdoors at both the TCC. Audience members check in, are assigned to one of five small groups and then follow their small group guide to one of the five site specific performance locations. Audience members walk from play to play watching the stories unfold in various rotations. Conceived by AUC Theatre Professors Jillian Campana and Dina Amin, the plays have been written by Yehia Abd-Elghany, Noran Morsi, Nour El Captan, Omar Omar, Nour Ibrahim, Marwan Gabalawy and Passant Faheem. There are over 60 people involved in the production from directors to designers, from managers to performers (30 and 31 March, 5pm, meet in main garden).
