'I am fully confident in this generation of players,' says Ahly coach

Ahly Coach Pitso Mosimane said he is fully confident about his players after claiming a 3-0 win over Congolese side Vita Club at a Champions League group stage game on Tuesday.
The nine-time African champions had a disappointing start in their group stage campaign, claiming only four points from their first three games, but Tuesday's win helps the Red Devils get closer to the competition's quarters.
They are now second in Group A with seven points, three points behind leaders Simba of Tanzania who defeated El-Merrikh 3-0 on Tuesday.
"We were criticised after our slow start in the group stage but I am fully confident in this generation of players," Mosimane said.
"Yes this generation is not the best in the club's history but they did a great job," said Mosimane. "They won the Champions League title before claiming the bronze medal in the FIFA Clubs World Cup and I am fully confident in this group of players," he added.
The South African coach admitted that his side was clinical on Tuesday, stressing that his side learnt the lesson from the previous game against Vita Club.
In this game, Ahly were held to a 2-2 draw at home by the Congolese side in a game that saw the Ahly players squander around a dozen of clear chances.
"In Cairo we squandered a big number of chances but today, we scored three goals from a few number of chances. In football you need to be lucky," he said.
Meanwhile, striker Mohamed Sherif revealed that he sustained a hamstring injury, adding that he is to undergo scans in Cairo for the final diagnosis.
The striker opened the scoring in the sixth minute before being substituted in the pause, making ways for Winger Taher Mohamed who added the third goal for his side.
Ahly will face group bottom El-Merrikh of Sudan away from home at the start of the next month.
