Pair jailed for 5 years for Celtic letter bombs Trevor Muirhead and Neil McKenzie sentenced to 5 years for sending letter bombs to Celtic manager Neil Lennon
Two men who sent letter bombs to Celtic manager Neil Lennon and prominent fans of the Glasgow soccer team have been sentenced to jail for five years. Trevor Muirhead and Neil McKenzie were originally accused of a more serious charge of conspiring to murder, but were instead found guilty of conspiracy to assault after sending devices they believed would explode. The pair sent bombs last year to Lennon, Celtic-supporting Scottish lawmaker Trish Godman and the late Paul McBride, a lawyer who had represented Lennon. The packages were intercepted before reaching their targets and did not explode. (For more sports news and updates, follow Ahram Online Sports on Twitter:@AO Sports)
