Egypt's cabinet approved on Tuesday a contract between the country's National Authority for Tunnels and the French state-owned Autonomous Parisian Transportation Administration (RATP) to manage and operate the new electric train, which aims to facilitate access to the New Administrative Capital (NAC). The new electric train line will connect the station of Adly Mansour in east Cairo, the 10th of Ramadan City, to the NAC, which will be officially inaugurated in the middle of this year. The line, which is being built by the Chinese AVIC-CREC consortium in cooperation with Egyptian companies, is 72% complete. Egypt is expanding and upgrading the transportation network in Greater Cairo through an extensive transport network that includes new underground metro lines, multiple bridges, and a monorail line.
