After announcing Khairat El-Shater's presidential bid, delegation of FJP members meet White House officials and policy experts in US to promote Brotherhood as 'moderate' Islamist option for Egypt A delegation of the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party members (FJP), launched a "week-long charm offensive" during meetings with White House officials on Tuesday in the US capital, says American newspaper The Washington Post. The Brotherhood's visit to America is expected to last for a few days and they are due to meet with more US officials, policy experts and think tanks, the daily added. The Washington Post editorial team met with Sondus Essam, the administrator of "Ikhwanweb" the Brotherhood's English language website. Following the meeting, the paper wrote Wednesday that the Brotherhood came to reassure America that it is a moderate Islamic group working for the benefit of all Egyptians. The newspaper added that the Brotherhood wish to allay American fears that the group is the biggest political power in the country. The Brotherhood's priorities, Essam said to the newspaper's editors and reporters, are the economy, politics and answering the revolution's demands of social justice, education development and providing security for all. The FJP members also defended their decision to back second-in-commandKhairat El-Shater as their presidential candidate.
