Egyptian producer prices rose 8.78 per cent in the year to February, up from 7.44 per cent in the 12 months to January, official data showed on Sunday.
The country's Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said the index currently sits at 197 points. It has a base-rate of100 for the 2004/5 financial year.
The index was 181.1 in February 2011, according to CAPMAS data.
