Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways said in a statement that it will operate special passenger flights to Brussels, Dublin, London Heathrow, Tokyo Narita and Zurich for those stranded in the UAE return to their home country during the coronavirus pandemic. Regular passenger flights from the UAE remain suspended as per a directive from the General Civil Aviation Authority. The special flights, which started on Sunday, April 5 to Amsterdam, Jakarta, Manila, Melbourne, Seoul Incheon and Singapore are one-way only, and on return journeys the airlines have been repatriating Emirati citizens stuck abroad. "The airline continues to repatriate UAE citizens on return sectors, where possible, and carry fresh produce as belly-hold cargo back to Abu Dhabi," Etihad said in a statement.
