Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said on Thursday that there are no cases of coronavirus in Egypt. The Egyptian PM said that Egypt has taken all the necessary precautions to face the coronavirus following its outbreak in a number of countries in the Middle East, including medical screenings in Egyptian airports and seaports for all arrivals from abroad. "The Egyptian state does not hide anything and is completely transparent in this issue," Madbouly said. Madbouly made the statements during a meeting in Cairo to follow up on the precautions taken to deal with the new virus. The meeting was attended by officials including the ministers of health, tourism and archeology, supply and civil aviation. Madbouly added that the cabinet issued a decision on Wednesday to speed up the process of procuring and providing precautionary supplies as soon as possible, and that there is daily coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO). Egypt's Ministry of Health and the WHO announced a week ago that the foreign national who was found to be carrying the coronavirus in Egypt has tested negative for the disease. Since the disease emerged last December, it has killed more than 2,000 people in mainland China and six people outside the country.
