Patrice Carteron has instilled a new-found belief into Zamalek's stuttering side as they face Pyramids in a high-profile Egyptian Premier League clash on Thursday. The French coach has overseen two victories since replacing Serbian coach Micho at the helm -- a 3-1 win over third-division side Sharqeya in the Egypt Cup round of 32 and a vital 2-0 home victory over Angola's Primero de Agosto in the African Champions League. He will be looking to bring Zamalek's league campaign back on track after they dropped five points in their opening five games to drop to fifth in the table. But in doing so, he will face stiff opponents in Pyramids, who also made an inconsistent start after drawing three of their first three matches of the season. However, Pyramids have still enjoyed a superb run of results in the African Confederation Cup, the continent's secondary club competition, as they are joint leaders of their group with maximum six points from two games. Their French coach Sebastien Desabre will be also looking to avenge Pyramid's 3-0 loss to Zamalek in the Egypt Cup final at the end of the last season -- the only highlight of Micho's brief tenure in charge of the White Knights. Pyramids welcome back key playmaker Abdallah El-Said after he recovered from a nagging injury, having made a cameo appearance in the team's 6-0 win over Mauritania's Nouadhibou in the Confederation Cup last Sunday. Zamalek will miss influential left-back Abdallah Gomaa through injury. (For more sports news and updates, follow Ahram Online Sports on Twitter at @AO_Sports and on Facebook at AhramOnlineSports.)
