CIFF41: Mexican filmmaker Guillermo Arriaga honoured in Cairo

With Mexico being in focus at the 41st edition of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), filmmaker Guillermo Arriaga has been honoured during the event, which is running until 29 November.
The Mexican Oscar-nominated screenwriter-director, who participated in several panel discussions and master classes at the CIFF, received an honouring award from CIFF president Mohamed Hefzy on Monday.
The screenwriter of notable films such as Babel, 21 Grams and Amores Perros expressed his appreciation for the welcome he has received in Egypt as well as his wish to see further cooperation between Egypt and Mexico.
Arriaga will give a three-hour lecture on Tuesday at Al-Hanager Theatre in a master class on scriptwriting titled 'Nonlinear, Linear And Multiple Storytelling.'
The CIFF also will be honouring Cannes' Best Director award-winner and former jury member Carlos Reygadas, who is known for his lyrical, experimental style.
The current edition of the CIFF is named after its late artistic director Youssef Sherif Rizkallah, with number of activities being held, including the screening of 153 films from 63 countries.
