Liverpool assistant coach Pep Lijnders said on Tuesday Mohamed Salah will not be available against Arsenal in the EFL Cup played on Wednesday, although he insisted the Egyptian winger's injury is not serious. The 27-year-old was stretched off the pitch after picking an ankle injury, minutes after scoring the winner in his side's 2-1 victory over Tottenham on Sunday. “Mo is fine,” Lijnders told Liverpoolecho on Tuesday. “Towards the end of the game it is more precaution because the ankle gets more tired and he feels it a little bit more and we have to take him off. But he is fine, he is good." Salah has scored eight goals in 14 appearances in all competitions so far this season. He was called up for Egypt's upcoming two clashes in the Nations Cup qualifiers against Kenya and Comoros on 14 and 18 November respectively.
