The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Cairo, is holding an international symposium from 4 to 8 September to commemorate 500 years of Leonardo Da Vinci at the Lecture Hall of the Conference Center. The symposium, named 'Da Vinci 500 Symposium: A Universal Legacy', will be accompanied by a full exhibition to showcase Da Vinci's works and photographs from the model collection of the National Museum of Science and Technology in Italy. Da Vinci was a pioneer in both arts and science, and his contributions as a scientist, painter, sculptor, architect, inventor, and military engineer earned him the title of the Renaissance Man. His most famous paintings include none other than the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper.
