Week 2 programme: 16th International Summer Festival at Bibliotheca Alexandrina

The second week of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina's 16th International Summer Festival offers music concerts, poetry, theatre, as well as a lecture on cinema and a family day programme tailored for children.
This week's international performances include Sudanese singer Asia Madani, the Swiss band OY, and the Moroccan band Made in Bled. Local talents taking the stage include singer Mohamed Mohsen, Les Compagnons band, Zap Tharwat, Hisham Kharma, in addition to poet Amr Hassan.
An Egyptian play titled The Greatest Battle, directed by Mina Nabil and performed by Grey Team troupe, will be staged in the Great Hall. This week also kicks off the first in a series of lectures on cinema with a talk titled ‘The Importance of Cinematic Acting' to be delivered by actor Ahmed Kamal.
The family day will open on 27 July at 12.30pm, with activities for children in the tent area between 3pm and 7pm.
