Speaker of the parliament Saad El-Katatni has announced that the parliament is demanding that Minister of the Interior Mohamed Ibrahim order the central security forces not to use birdshot against protesters on the request of MP Mohamed Abu Hamed and MP Ali Dora. El-Katatni announced during Monday's parliamentary session that the People's Assembly will send a delegation in order to investigate the alleged use of gunshots against the protesters at the Ministry of the Interior and the surrounding streets. The delegation includes the head of the Youth Committee in the parliament MP Osama Yassin and the head of the National Security Committee MP Abbas Mokhmair as well as MP Mohamed Abu Hamed and MP Sherif Zahran. The speaker of the parliament has also asked the protesters at the interior ministry to withdraw and move back to Tahrir Square so that protesters and thugs can be distinguished. On Sunday night the security forces dispersed protesters near the ministry and the surrounding streets by force with birdshot and tear gas resulting in the death of one protester and overone hundred injuries.
