The People's Assembly decided to hold an urgent session on Thursday to discuss the melee that took place following the Masry-Ahly league game Wednesday.
On his Facebook page, parliamentarian Amr Hamzawy said he would call for the sacking of the Minister of Interior as well as the security head of Port Said.
Amid notable absence of security forces, hundreds of Masry fans stormed the pitch and hunted Ahly players who ran for their lives towards the dressing room.
The death toll has been taken up to press time over 70, who died in the stampede, and the injured are estimated at hundreds.
