Substitute striker Omar El-Said helps Zamalek overcome Ismaily in Egyptian league
Published in Ahram Online on 18 - 04 - 2019

Zamalek returned to their winning ways in the Egyptian league on Thursday when they beat Ismaily 2-0 in a delayed game at Suez stadium.
Striker Omar El-Said opened the scoring in the 36th minute, while attacking midfielder Youssef “Obama” Ibrahim added the second two minutes after the break.
The win has helped them regained their place at the top of the league table with 60 points, two ahead of Ahly, who will face Pyramids FC later on Thursday.
Zamalek started the game on style as they squandered many goal scoring opportunities.
Winger Ibrahim Hassan received a nice pass that made him clear but his effort was denied by Ismaily keeper Mohamed Fawzy in the 12th minute.
Three minutes later Zamalek's Moroccan striker Khalid Boutaib had the chance to open the scoring for his side, but his close-range shot went wide.
Defender Mahmoud Alaa also had his header cleared from the goal line in the 17th minute.
Against the run of the game Ismaily made a counter as Namibian striker Benson Shilongo found himself unmarked inside the area, but Zamalek keeper Mahmoud Abdel-Rehim blocked his close range shot in the 24th minute.
Zamalek winger Ahmed Sayed cut inside and sent a powerful shot in the 35th minute, but the Ismaily keeper denied his shot with a heroic save.
One minute later, Omar El-Said, who came off the bench at the 25-minute mark at the expense of injured Boutaib, benefited from bad clearance by Ismaily defenders to score easily.
El-Said turned from scorer to provider two minutes after the break, sending a nice back pass to Youssef Obama that made him clear, and he added the second.
Zamalek had the chance to score more goals but Ibrahim Hassan and Ahmed Sayed failed to score, while Ismaily seemed incapable of presenting a real threat to the Zamalek backline.
