Egypt has extended its condolences to Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe after the death of more than 150 people in floods that hit the three countries. Cyclone Idai killed at least 157 people in Zimbabwe and Mozambique as it tore across Southern Africa last week, Reuters reported, and vast areas of land have been flooded, roads destroyed and communications disrupted. Malawi was also badly affected by the floods, which have left hundreds of people injured and thousands displaced. In a statement on Monday, the Egyptian foreign ministry wished the injured a speedy recovery. Egypt stands by the side of the governments and peoples of Mozambique, Malawi, and Zimbabwe in these crises, the statement added.
